This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it SNOWS.

Zambrano on the Reds and Brewers
This probably doesn't need a diary. Here's Big Z:

While explaining the difference between his poor outing last Monday in Cincinnati and his good one Saturday, Zambrano said the key was the quality of the lineups he was facing.

`'In Cincinnati, they're better hitters than in Milwaukee,'' he said. `'I don't say that the Milwaukee Brewers are nothing, but the offense of the Cincinnati Reds is better.''

Even Majewski wasn't bad.  He wasn't great, but he wasn't bad.

That was Bubba's second game-winner in five days.

The funniest part was when the announcers read my e-mail about Bubba on the air...which prompted them to start talking about how C. Trent is a huge Bubba Crosby fan.  Because he spent so much time during spring training writing about Bubba.

Bats 1, Clippers 0
Great game.  The Bats were hitless until the ninth inning.  Herr got the first hit, a double off the wall in center.  Votto grounded out, but moved Herr over to 3rd.  Bubba hit a broken-bat single to right to plate Herr.  Another walkoff win for Bubba-licious.

Gosling started, Wilkerson got the win. Even Majewski wasn't bad.

I think the term is a misnomer
Romantic comedies don't always need to be called chick flicks.  I think, for example, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is somewhat close to "chick flick" conventions, but I think everyone can enjoy it.  There are lots of rom-coms like that.

Plus, my fiance would prefer we only watched movies with gruesome death scenes, so I have trouble with calling anything a "chick flick" anymore.

i was going through phoenix - it was november - and i stopped at that stadium and had beers at the friday's in centerfield.  they have tables in front of real stadium seats.  thought it was cool, but the roof thing was really weird.  never been to a game at a dome.

not that it really has anything to do with this game.  i just think of that every time i see that stadium.

Domes
I went to the Trop once while on vacation.  It was great.  We sat in the outfield seats, and there were less people than at a UC football game.  Fun nonetheless, and the dome was necessary.  It was oppressive, even at night.

But I hear that Phoenix has a dry heat.

Never Know
And you'll never know what he is capable of until he get some regular time. I really wish they would put him in CF and let Freel give everyone a break. Jr should have 2 days a week off, Hamilton one and spot him anywhere else. You don't find uber utility guys that can play any position very often.

Granted that leaves you with no lead-off batter 3 days a week and a rotating line up, but so be it. Tell BP to be patient and not swing for fences and he can lead off.

Does anyone remember not too long ago the article about how 2 people leave Hamilton County for Maricopa County (where Phoenix is the county seat) every day?  I wonder how many Reds fans now live there.
