Well played by MLB
They get more money, keep the product exposed to the largest possible audience, and get the MLB channel on the basic tier for cable and DTV (something which the NFL and the NBA don't have, IIRC).

If you have digital cable through Time Warner, you can catch a sneak peek of MLB Extra Innings from now through the 8th.
For me, at least, it was up in the hockey channels.
It may be available through other providers if you don't have Time Warner.
