I felt that Dave Miley got short changed on his chance in Cincinnati. He was never comfortable with Dan O'Brien. The sucess of his AAA teams in the makes one think he can handle the dugout part of the job. He may have strugled handeling ego's, since he didn't have to deal with that in AAA. The 2004 team when it was healthy before the wheels litterly feel off in June played quite well under Miley, before all the usual suspects ended up on the DL.
The 2005 team could not have been a sucess under the best hybread of Johnny Anderson, Jimmy Leyland, Bobby Cox, Tony LaRussa, and Tommy Lasorda. Wilson was hurt, Milton was healthy, Ortiz pitched every 5 days, Claussen was the #2 starter that year. I felt like he got the fall for Dan O'Briens lack of ability to create a major league roster.
