I Wonder

I wonder what it would have taken for the Yankees and Red Sox to have NOT led off BBTN tonight? Another no-hitter? perfect game? 27 up, 27 K's?

I understand that it was a pretty thrilling finish, but do they have to talk about that game for 25 minutes of 40 minute show? I know I'm preaching to the choir, but goodness gracious, it's just absurd.

I really think that the Brennaman Report (with the game recap and the scores from other games) gives more equitable treatment than BBTN. Why don't they just call it what it really is: Yankees and Red Sox Tonight.

Sorry... I just had to vent somewhere. I don't really expect anyone to comment on this diary, though I know most of you feel the same way.

There are 30 teams in baseball.
The Yankees and Red Sox make up 28 of them.

Don't forget....
The Mets & Angels are also part of the club. I haven't watched a Fox game of the week in who knows how long, and I LOVE baseball in HD.

Angels?
ESPN doesn't care about anything west of the Mississippi except Barry Bonds. Mets and Cubs make up the other two teams.

They've been showing them more
in the last couple of years, since they won the WS. Also, I think they figured out that LA is the #2 media market.

Angels
The Angels represent "the minority."  So they'll show they Saux and Yanks and Mets half the time, and the Angels and A's the rest of the time.  That's equal treatment for NESPN.

FWIW...
...a lot of Yankees fans despise BBTN.  They see it as being heavily anti-Yankee and biased toward the Sox.

To be fair
I think he's fake, and a prima donna , but what he's doing is amazing. He's about to blow Poo Holes' April records out of the water.

Bubba
You and I may be the only Yankee fans on this site.  Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I grew up in Cincy and went to school in Boston.  Was a Sox fan in the 90s (before you could pick the Reds up on the internet, which I discovered in '98, I was forced to adopt a local team that didn't compete with the Reds).  By 2000, I lived in Maryland but was still getting constant AL East coverage by ESPN and local O's coverage.  At that point, I couldn't take the "underdog" Red Sox bitching anymore.

I probably would never have been a Yankee fan if it weren't for being a Sox fan first.

I'm no Yankee fan...
But I sure as hell like them more than the Sox (though I like the Sox' player's better -- Manny cracks me up.)

And we get more of the same crap next weekend
As they play at Bankee Stadium.  Once again, they are FOK$ Saturday game of the week, just like they were today.  And just like today, the other game next week is the Chub$-Deadbirds.

I load FOK$.

I load the Bankees.

However
Is there a network out there that doesn't televise Yanks-Red Sox as many times as possible if it has the MLB contract?

I imagine the number for yesterday's game was unreal, especially given Rodriguez's hitting surge and Matsuzaka's start.

The scene begins with darkness and the profound sound of shaving.
