Spring Training Game Thread: Game 9 vs. Indians

The game threads will go up later.  I'm now going through a horrible streak of not getting to say first!  

It hurts my self esteem...

Hamilton flies out.

EE grounds out.  

Blake works the count full, then strikes out.

Shoppach strikes out.

Arroyo, still sick with the flu, leaves the game after two innings.  (He said he'd try to go 3, but I guess he didn't feel up to it.)  

Conine grounds into DP.

Long battle for A-Gon.  He works the count full, then grounds out to SS.

Rouse grounds out to 1B.

Rivas pops it up to Castro.  

Miller strikes out.  

Castro hits a single, line drive to right.

Moeller in for Hermanson.  They're holding Castro close. Castro tries to steal, has to go back when Moeller fouls it off.  Moeller battles, but eventually is out on a liner to left.  Castro manages to get back to 1B.  Two outs.

Freel bunts it right back to the pitcher.  Three outs.

.615/.643/1.154/1.797. That's 8 for 13 with two homers, really. But an 1.800 OPS is nice anytime.

Sizemore pops out to EE.

Francisco homers.  1-0 Tribe.

Delluci flies out to Deno.

Garko flies out to deep center-left.  Hamilton makes the catch.  Three outs.

Hamilton gets a seeing-eye single.

Single for EE and error for Francisco.  Hamilton on 3B, EE on 2B.

Dunn HBP.  Bubba in to pinch-run for him.

Conine hits a 2-RBI double.  Bubba on 3B.  Gil pinch-running for Conine. 2-1 Reds.

A-Gon grounds out to 2B.  Runners hold.

Ross strikes out.  

Castro grounds out to 1B.

Bailey struggling with his command.  

Blake HBP.

Shoppach walks on 4 pitches.

Rouse gets ahead 3-0, then hits a 3-run homer run on 3-1.  4-2 Tribe.

Rivas strikes out.

Herrera hitting for the pitcher.  He works a walk.

Sizemore hits a 2-run homer.  6-2 Tribe.

Francisco hits one out to deep left, but Bubba runs it down.  2 outs.  At last.

Dellucci gets a seeing-eye single.  Homer getting the hook.

Victor Santos coming in.

Garko up.  Fly ball to Wise in CF finally ends the inning.

Gawd, that was ugly.

Deno grounds out.

Bellhorn HBP.

Valentin in for Ross.  He strikes out.

Long at-bat for EE, with many pitches fouled off, but he strikes out.

Blake grounds out to 2B.

Shoppach strikes out.

Rouse goes down swinging.  Three outs.

6-2 Tribe.

Bubba tries to bunt, is thrown out by the catcher.

Gil robbed by Sizemore.  Two outs.

Wise flies out.  Three outs.

Rivas grounds out.  

Rose singles, liner to right-center.  

One out, one on.  Santos gets the hook.  Love Shack coming in.

Still 6-2 Tribe.

Sizemore flies out to Deno.  Two outs.

Francisco grounds out to 3B.  The throw from Machado is high, but Valetin pulls it in.  Probably saving Machado another error.  Three outs.

7th inning stretch.

Dickerson in for Castro.  Grounds into fielder's choice.  Ross out. Cousin of Eric Dickerson beats the DP with his speed.  One out.

Deno pops it up.  Two outs.

Bellhorn strikes out.  Three outs.

Dellucci grounds out to Bellhorn.

Garko lines out.

Blake grounds out.

hopefully this will work.

If not, I haven't showered yet today anyway.

Stupid Indians

Valentin strikes out.

Machado walks.

Pulls the string, Bubba strikes out.

Gil strikes out.  

well, it worked last year didn't it ??

Hodges scorches one over the leaping SS Gil.

Rouse doubles.  Deno chases it to the wall, can't get it.  Wise plays it off the wall.

Runners on 2B and 3B.  Infield in.  

Rivas hits sac fly to CF.  One run scores, runner at 2B holds. 7-2 Tribe.  One out.

Rose strikes out.  Two outs.

Drennen works the count full.  Base hit.  They send the runner, but Wise guns him down at the plate.  Three outs.

Last licks for the Reds...

The guys who ended the last half-inning start this one.

Wise strikes out swinging.

Jorgenson walks.

Hopper hitting for the pitcher.  He singles to left.   Jorgenson to 2B.

Deno singles, a soft hit through the hole.  One out.  Bases loaded for Bellhorn.  

Bellhorn walks.  7-3 Tribe.  Bases still loaded, Valentin coming to the plate.

Valentin strikes out.  Two outs.

Janish caught looking.  Game over.
