Topps = Disney Co.

It looks like a group of investors led by Disney's M. Eisner is buying the baseball card company Topps for 385 million:

I tend to get uncomfortable when mega-corporations buy the little things I enjoy (or have enjoyed) in life. Oh well, the whole industry has been plummeting for years. (I can just imagine the word "sex" stenciled into the clouds on Griffey's next ball card --sorry-old reference there..--)

Here's a question, how do you all feel about the state of sports cards? Does having sports cards as collectibles bastardize our grand game? How do you feel about the quality of baseball cards today (as opposed to when you were a kid)? Does anybody even care?
