Projected 2010 lineup
This might have been posted/discussed earlier, but I figure now is a good time to take a look at our future. Here is BA's projected lineup for 2010.
C Miguel Perez (for lack of anyone else, I guess)
1b Joey Votto
2b Brandon Phillips
3b Edwin Encarnacion
SS Milton Loo (maybe a stretch?)
LF Adam Dunn
CF Drew Stubbs
RF Jay Bruce
No. 1 Starter Homer Bailey
No. 2 Starter Aaron Harang
No. 3 Starter Bronson Arroyo
No. 4 Starter Johnny Cueto
No. 5 Starter Travis Wood
Closer Sean Watson
That looks pretty cool to me. Maybe some of you with heavy toolbelts would be able to project how much money some guys like EE, Phillips, etc. would be making by 2010. I'd like to know what this lineup might cost.
As I noted, I don't think Perez will ever be the guy in Cincy. Maybe a 2007 pick (J.P. Arencibia-Tennessee) or F.A. will fill that void.
Seems there's also a lot of faith being placed in Stubbs and Loo. The thing I'm comfortable with about Stubbs is that even if he hits worse than Mike Cameron, apparently his defense is gold glove quality right now, and there could be enough offense coming from other places that it won't matter.
This has been an exciting week!

Yeah
But that thread is locked now, so I guess a new thread might be in order since we know Harang and Arroyo will be here then, hopefully.

I think we would have seen
that should have said 400
remember, he is supposed to be hitting 50 a year, right? ;)
Our Favorite Toy
Suggests 64% to hit 500 by 2015.
The 50 a year would also assume he won't get injured in the next 3 years to get to 345 by 2010.. I've I had to guess I say 400 sometime in 2012..
But I hear ya! I'd love to see him do it in a Reds uni also.
Dunn
Here is how Dunn stacks up after 6 full seasons against some other guys. Statistically it proves nothing but shows how other guys have done early in their careers.
Ruth 264*
Mays 212**
Dunn 198
Aaron 179
Griffey Jr 172
Bonds 142
Sosa 127
* first 6 full seasons playing 100 g or more. 20 career to this point
** 4 hrs in 52-53. Military service
Dunn's rank last 3 years
1st in HR's w/126 (Manny 123)
9th in RBI's w/295 (Manny #1 w/376)
5th in RUNS w/311 (Damon #1 w/355)
Pretty impressive to me. Even when he's in a no hit, no power funk, he still manages to get on base & score runs.
