I started writing this at the same time as Daedalus's Crystal Ball diary, so I hope this doesn't step on the toes of what she wrote. Feel free to throw your predictions for the season in general in her diary.
I've seen several other sites do stuff like this for their players and I thought it would be fun to do with ours. The idea is that we will gather the mob mentality and see how well we can predict as a group how a player will do in 2007. I'll post a different player every day and the thread will stay open as long as the RR system leaves the thread open (about a week). Once the thread has been closed, we will compile the numbers and take an average of what the community thinks, and democratically that will be our groupthink on that player. This seems like a double-plus good idea, no?
We'll start with the ace of the staff, Aaron Harang, and work our way through the rest of the starting rotation this week. Try to be reasonable with your projections as the better you project, the more realistic the final result will be.
For starting pitchers, give us his:
Here are Harang's career numbers: http://www.baseball-reference.com/h/haranaa01.shtml
You can see some projections on Harang here: http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1451&position=P
Also, PECOTA numbers can be found here (in the comments): http://www.redreporter.com/story/2007/1/17/215857/271
I'll put my predictions in the comments so they are all grouped together and none get accidentally left out.
