TBS Postseason Coverage
Now the we have survived through one postseason of having Chip Caray, Tony Gwyn and Bob Brenly as the "1st team broadcasters". I want RR to throw in their 2 cents on how TBS showcased the most exciting time in baseball.
My 2 cents
Top 3 things TBS didn't get right...
- Frank Thomas on the pregame show: If Frank thinks he has future as a baseball analysis he should think again. Seriously, how could you look bad and that you don't exist on the set when EJ is the host! This defies my whole theroy that ANYONE can look good when EJ is the host. Thanks Frank
- Not showing Family Guy when the NLCS was going on: The ratings were just sad for the series, On Mike and Mike they said the best rating was a 3.6 in game 2! I'm not sure if it's the state of MLB baseball because the promote their storied franchises more than the newer ones, or just that the Rockies and D-Backs don't appeal to that part of the country.
- The-I-can't-believe-these-are-your best-broadcasters: I tried tuning the trio out but it was so hard when they were obsessed with Micah Owens and his ability to hit for being a pitcher through the first 4 innings last night. TBS was getting away with murder; the victim were my ears. Find anyone please who won't say stupid thing after stupid thing, and will put me to sleep for next ear will ya?
- Dick Stockton: I have always been hard on Dick, deservingly so as well. He has ruined so many NBA postseason series for me it is not even funny. He was so bad in the Dallas-Golden State series, that TNT replaced him with Marv Albert and Steve Kerr by game 3. However, baseball is perfect for his laid back style of broadcasting. I was really impressed and felt good that Dick didn't totally wreck something in sports.
- EJ and Cal: Not as good as EJ, Charles and Kenny, but damn Cal really knew what he was talking about and was interesting to listen to, and EJ as always works wonders. They should bring in Milton Bradley next year just to mix things up har har.

Why I haven't been watching
I do think the Rockies and D'backs are both great, exciting teams, and whoever wins the AL is going to have their hands full with the Lord's team. I just wonder if maybe the Rockies got screwed by winning too quickly. Can they keep their momentum up while Boston and Cleveland slug it out?

Depends..
(I think that the ALCS is a toss-up right now.)
If the Tribe wins it in five, I think they can throw Sabathia at the Rocks in Game 1. Sabathia is a stud but he doesn't have it rolling right now. Advantage: push.
If the Sox can win it and have their rotation arranged so that Beckett pitches Game One.. Advantage: Sox.
If the Sox win it without having Beckett lined up t go first, I think the Rocks migh thave a pretty good game plan for Schilling or Daisuke. Advantage: Rocks.
By the way, "Rocks and Sox" is fun to say.
Suess out.

Cal
I work until 11 or 12 at night, and I love baseball, but I could not stay up for all the games. The ratings suffered because it was 2 west coast teams, starting late. If cubs or mets were playing numbers would be through the roof.
My Thought for Tbs next year, More Ripkin bros.

I agree with those here
And Zach, who brings me no end of frustration and joy, is slowly building quite a lineup.
