My first post season first
For some reason...
I'm glad it it's on tonight instead. I'll be wandering around like a lost soul without baseball.
Just how improbable
Suck it Peavy
...still bitter. So, so bitter.
I should be careful what I ask for
I was just thinking the same thing
Who feels emptyness in the pit of their stomach
The Rockies fan's are electric, somthing that I have experiance only 4 times. Wrigley, a Card's Red's game last season, when the Red's were battling for first place, Homer Bailey's debut, and Team USA vs Team Cuba in Havana.
Plus this brings back bad memories from an October night in 1999. I still stick pins in my Al Lieter and Steve Parrish dolls.
LOL
Oh, boy
Service animal, maybe?
doesn't look like it
There are all kinds of service animals these days
Or maybe they allow dogs at Coors Field.
My dad works with Aaron Cook's mom
It's a bigger dog
Now I'm watching the freakin' dog instead of the pitch or the batter.
Also former red great Dan Serafini
He didn't suck in 2002 though.
Dessens
Haynes
Reitsma
were the closet to mainstays they had. Reitsma was jerked around that season. He pitched well, and was demoted to AAA.

I found 3 starts in 03
An ovation for 4.1 innings of 5 run baseball
Short outing for Fogg
Why is it
Wow.
Peavy...
10-0 Patriots near the end of the 1st qtr
And the Bengals
Vrabel
hard to believe the Bengals now only have 3 line backers left for the game
qb
somehow
though
What?
Kaz Matsui
I'm glad for him, though.
Kaz
Colorado was a smart move for Matsui. And I hear the schools are good, too.

Why
I must say
Yeah

That actually...
Garrett Atkins
Worst. Outfielding. Ever.
LOL
The Colorado winds? Or just sudden-death nervousness?
Maybe they're just not that good?
Well...
But we may be getting some free baseball.
Matt Holiday Clutch rating 5.4
perhaps we should try....
and let Caleb Miller and Ahmad Brooks pitch the eighth inning.
I wish they'd explain
do these aguys realize this is a play off game?
Watching the Bengals...

I clicked over to ESPN just now
Damn this game is killing me
I want the Rockies to win
Baseball Tonight is doing 1 web gem for each team
What would be the Reds' Web Gem?
by Paul Householder on Oct 2, 2007 12:02 AM EDT up reply actions
Maybe ESPN decided
by Paul Householder on Oct 2, 2007 12:08 AM EDT up reply actions
I vote for...
Maybe they'll put it online tomorrow
I saw it yesterday
it's our old friend
Game tied
8-8
Rockies win
Hmmmm....
Holliday should have been out.
And he slid in on his face.
Just got home
Secondly, I'm surprised no one pointed out the absolutely Narronesque move of pinch running Jamey Carroll for Garrett Atkins in the 7th. In a one-run game with one out and Atkins on second, you're wagering that it's a smarter play that either Brad Hawpe of Spilborgh will hit a ball that Jamey Carroll can score on but Atkins can't, than to leave Atkins' bat in the lineup for the remainder of a close game. I know Carroll hit the sac fly to win it, but Atkins has been raking lately and should have had a homer on the double anyway:
Atkins season: .299/.365/.848
Atkins the last week: .476/.560/1.227
Atkins last 2 weeks: .373/.429/958
Carroll season: .222/.317/.615
Carroll the last week: .500/.500/1.000 (1 for 2)
Fun start to the postseason, or, I suppose, end to the regular season.
holliday was absolutely
out.
I 100% agree
stop hedging
Holliday is Clutch at being lucky
couple things
Did you guys hear what Tim Kurkjian said about the Holliday play????? Yeesh.
Bottom line: The game shouldn't have gone to extras. Atkins double clearly should have been a home run. And they should have known that. They should have known a ball doesn't bounce like that off a PAD!!! A good umpire would have done what I was thinking the entire time--go look! I bet there was a mark on that wheelchair. I was screaming at my TV and I'm not even a fan of either team.
Baseball needs replay, and Tim Kurkjian is a moron to put it nicely.
Kurkjian isn't a moron
what did tk say?
I thought
But the umpires said they reviewed it and stand by the call.
btw
just like to point out
1 Chuck Klein
2 Jeff Bagwell
3 Frank Thomas
4 Joe DiMaggio
5 Carlos Delgado
6 Manny Ramirez
7 Rafael Palmeiro
8 Hank Greenberg
9 Jason Giambi
10 Jim Bottomley
Klein, DiMaggio, Greenberg and Bottomley are in the hall and bagwell, thomas and ramirez are locks. delgado has a really good shot, and palmeiro would have gotten in had he not juiced. that leaves only giambi as non-hall material, and thats just because his career was cut short by, um, parasites.
helton's worst ops+ the past ten years was a 119 (his best was a 168) and hes done it largely with his ability to get on base... he has a career .430 (!) OBP, no. 10 all-time. other than barry bonds(.444, no. 6), hes the best around at the most important aspect in the game.
Ha! Check out how A Rod celebrates!
