Harang and a LTD

From C. Trent:

Not sure if this has been discussed, as I have been out of town for the better part of the week, but I am utterly shocked that the Reds haven't approached Harang about a long-term deal.  That would have been my #1 priority this offseason if I was running things.  Buying out some free agent years with a 4/$40 or 3/$30 will look like a bargain in the upcoming years if he's slightly above league average, and an absolute steal if he repeats his 2006 performance.

To recap:  This offseason, we've acquired a 3rd catcher, 5th outfielder, 3 40-year old relievers (giving extra years when necessary), a 40-year old 1B/RF whose numbers don't play well at 1B or RF, but haven't even DISCUSSED keeping our #1 starter in Cincinnati past this season.
