Pitchers
Also, Brian Moehler, just so he can pitch to Chad Moeller.
And Tomo Ohka, so he can stop killing the Reds for other teams, and start killing the Reds for Cincinnati.
But....

So,
Drew is in Boston, Radke retired, Bonds sort of has a contract, others are rehabbers. Did I miss any?
I think we should go after Eric Young just so we can hear the George F#@^&*% Grande say "E.Y.....E.Y...."
Sorry

Old Free Agent List
The Nationals can sign the entire free agent list and they're still gonna lose 142 games. That's the worst-looking team I can ever recall going into spring training. If I were Nick Johnson, my leg wouldn't heal for another 10 months.

Cairo is taken
Ramon Ortiz is supposedly about to sign with the Twins. It's all done but the physical.
The Reds are close to signing Guardado. According to his agent, they are just dotting the i's and crossing the t's now. He'll get a minor league deal and invite to spring training.

Grooming
Make that Happen Wayne. We want to see Ramon Ortiz Part Deux - the Ortiz/Milton show was the greatest thing to happen to bleacher ball hawks in years.
I was dreaming when I wrote this
C Sandy Alomar .307
1B Jeff Bagwell .304 42HR 30SB 126RBI
2B Eric Young .281 51SB
SS Jose Vizcaino .252
3B Fernando Tatis .298 34HR 21SB 107RBI
LF Barry Bonds .262 34HR
CF Steve Finley .264 34HR 100R 103RBI
RF Bernie Williams .342 25HR 116R 115RBI
The pitching isn't as impressive, as nearly all the starters had subpar years.
SP Brad Radke
SP Roger Clemens
SP Aaron Sele
SP Sterling Hitchcock
SP David Wells
RP Steve Karsay
RP Matt Herges
RP Eddie Guardado
Off years by Bonds and Clemens would probably do them in, but there's plenty of depth on the offensive side.
Id sign a few of 'em
SP - Aaron Sele ($800,000 if he makes the team) w/ an Invite to ST
2b - Eric Young (League Minimum If He Makes the Team) w/ an Invite to ST
3b - David Bell ($1 Mil If he Makes the Team) w/ an Invite to ST
3b - Fernando Tatis ($550,000 If he Makes the Team) w/ an Invite to ST
RP (RHP) - Matt Herges ($800,000 If he Makes the Team) w/ an Invite to ST
RP (LHP) - Eduardo Guardado ($880,000 If he Makes the Team) w/ an Invite to ST
RP (RHP) - Rick White ($500,225 If he Makes the Team) w/ an Invite to ST
Guardado, White, and Herges could round out the Bullpen and Sele could go between AAA and CIN giving quality starts for cheap.
Bell and Tatis - I would only keep one on the major league roster (Bell probably) and the other (Tatis) in AAA. They could be backup to a young Encarnacion.
1B - Eduardo Perez ($850,000 If he makes The Team) w/ an Invite to ST
Eduardo would be a good power bat off the bench, and could spell Hatteberg once a week or whenever he needs it.
MAJOR LEAGUE CONTRACTS:
R. Villone (lhp) - 1 Yr. $1.25 M. Club Option 2008 Worth 1.5 M. ($450,000 Buyout)
A. Rhodes (lhp) - 1 Yr. $1.5 M. Club Option 2008 Worth $1.8 M. ($450,000 Buyout)
Both could be solid lefties in a 'pen.

The Reds
I'm not saying Hermanson and Politte are world beaters but when healthy are better than just about better than everybody the Reds have in the pen. Then, if/when Eddie comes back the pen is even stronger.
