Most Memorable 2006 Reds Game

Let's take a (mostly) positive look back at 2006. What was the most memorable game? I've put together some contenders.

April 14 - Reds 1 Cards 0 - Harang's Masterpiece
Aaron Harang announced himself as an ace, outdueling reigning CYA winner Chris Carpenter. The Harangatan drove in the Reds' only run.

April 19 - Reds 9 Marlins 8 - Clawing Back Against Florida
Having just dropped 2 of 3 to the Cards and in danger of losing this series to Florida (who were considered the worst of the NL), the Reds needed a win. The mounted a comeback, scoring 1 in the 7th and 3 in the 8th. In the 9th Edwin hit a walkoff double, scoring Dunn (who had walked).

June 21 - Reds 6 Mets 5 - Tomorrow Never Dies
The Reds had trailed all night. ESPN broadcaster Orel Hershiser knew the Mets would win. He could see it in their eyes. But with 2 outs in the 9th against Billy Wagner, the Reds started a rally that culminated with Brandon Phillips driving home 2 runs.

August 8 - Reds 10 Cards 3 - Freel Dazzles
It could have been a lot closer if not for Ryan Freel's dazzling catch. Freel layed out in centerfield to rob Pujols of extra bases with 2 men on. Electrified, the Reds rolled.

August 11 - Reds 5 Phillies 6 (14) - Narron's Brilliant Plan
Dental plan! After both teams blew saves in the 9th, they put up zeros into the 14th as starters pitched relief. In the 14th Jerry Narron intentionally walked future MVP Ryan Howard, loading the bases with no outs. Elizardo Ramirez (who would start the next day before going on the DL for the remainder of the year) couldn't pitch out of that jam.

August 22 - Reds 14 Astros 0 - Butt-kicking
For those who like blowouts, this was the Reds' best. Kyle Lohse cruised and an 8-run 3rd powered the Reds past Houston. The Reds were looking good for the wild card with a west coast trip looming.

August 29 - Reds 5 Dodgers 6 (16) - Endless Night
After a 10 pm first pitch, wasted Red Reporters watched both teams go scoreless after the 6th inning. In the 16th, Ryan Franklin's first pitch was taken deep by Ramon Martinez. Given a chance he would throw it again.
