If we talk about 2007 like the season is over, then maybe the season will continue, like talking about a no-hitter when it's going on, right?
Anyway, I was thinking about working on an idea over the winter about a Blogger Day next season and contacting the Reds front office about it, maybe getting our names up on the scoreboard, getting a discount for tix, or something to that effect. Idea needs to be thought out more.
We could aim for a three day weekend so those of us who have to travel have an extra day, though many people are usually busy then. The Reds are home on both Memorial Day and Labor Day, though the Labor Day game is the start of a homestand and the Sat. and Sun. they are away. Or we could do the weekend St. Louis series at the end of June. That's enough advance notice to make arrangements. The schedule is here.
I was also thinking about starting a sort of displaced Reds fan club, where people in other cities get together one game a month at a bar to watch games together. In the DC area alone we have 3 (that I know of) Red Sox bars that have games on every day; we could at least find one bar who will agree to show the Reds once a month. We would use Reds blogs to get the information out, and "chapter leaders" in their cities would be responsible for getting the info out around town to people who might not be blog readers but who are fans. (Like myself last year, for example.) It's just nicer watching Reds games with other Reds fans.
What do y'all think?
