I returned from the Guggenheim to find an email from my father with the subject line ¨BIG TRADE.¨ Of course I know the entire Reds blogosphere is on the edge of their seats waiting for my reaction so I´ll chime in.
I don´t really like it.
No, I don´t think I like it at all. As much as everyone here cried for Krivsky to fix the bullpen for the pennant run, I never really believed in the Reds this year. The offseason is for bullpens. This feels like an overreaction. I know FeLo´s defense lessens his value. No great loss there. But Kearns will be missed. I feel like the organization jerked him around in general, and he will reach his potential now. Hopefully this will turn out for the best, but the reaction of non-Reds sites doesn´t bode well.
My system is currently working on a bottle of Rioja and my wounded leg, suffered on the Thursday morning bull run, is acting up (I suspect it´s infected, despite my excruciating self-treatment of alcohol based hand sanitizer). Also reading about this deal is costing me three euros an hour. Caramba.
Oh, and I forgot about Royce Clayton. He´s el diablo. In 1939 he invade Poland and... ah nevermind.
