No Reds comeback for Pot Roast

Krivsky and Narron both get extended. I think it's a good move. - JD

I'm so sad.

Krivsky gets a thumbs up vote from me so far, but I don't like Narron's unwillingness to rely on young players. He wouldn't have played Encarnacion at third at all this year had EdE not hit 42 home runs in spring training.

A big part of me was hoping the Reds would tank this year, which would have been blamed on O'Brien, and then Castellini could have brought back Lou Piniella.

I know Piniella would never have managed a team like the Reds, but hey -- it's my fantasy, I can have it however I like.

It's symbolic
But it's a good thing. Part of me would have liked to see what Krivsky does at the deadline before giving him this vote of confidence, but I don't think he's the type to get complacent. I think there is an air of stability around this franchise that hasn't been here since 1999.

i agree it's symbolic
it won't be lost on the players, either, who need something like this to get going again.

if things go wrong, it isn't that difficult to get rid of a manager.

I agree, I would have loved to see Lou Piniella come to be the manager of the Red's.....

Lou & Homer Don't Mix!
Sorry JD but the thought of Lou Piniella, destroyer of young arms, helming this club when a twentysomething Homer Bailey arrives is an absolute nightmare.

Yeah
I agree. I guess I should have mentioned that this was promoted from the diaries, written by Duck.
