Maybe I am simply an uninformed Reds fan but I will go ahead and say the following anyway. I think David Weathers is a GOOD veteran pitcher and he is valuable to the Reds. However, Todd Coffey has been absolutely DOMINATING this season. Can we give him a shot at closer? He's got the mentality of a bonafide closer. Has anyone ever seen him sprint from the bullpen? The guy throws in the mid 90's! He's got the makeup to be an unbelievable closer.
I don't know. Maybe I'm just talking crazy here. Don't get me wrong though, we still need a bullpen pitcher like David Weathers, just maybe not in the closer's role.
Your thoughts.
