Krivsky, call Littlefield !!!!!!!!
The Gonzo and LaRoche swap is off the table as JS got tired of waiting on Pit and ended the offer.
So...Krivsky better get his behind on the phone and ask what it would take for the Reds to acquire Gonzalez. The Reds and Pirates aren't afraid to trade within the division as shown by the Casey trade. The Reds signed Weathers and Stanton...both suck, sorry. Also, both are very old. I'm not exactly sure what the Reds would offer but Pit could move/keep Nady at 1B and then the Reds could work a package including Denorfia, Harris, & maybe Szymanski for Gonzalez & a near major league ready pitching prospect (Burnett, Bullington, or Van Benschoten).
The Reds don't need OF at any level so Denorfia (who appears to be a 4th OF going into 2007) & Szymanski leaving won't hurt much and Harris isn't needed either. The Pirates may trade Castillo so Harris would be a good catch for them. Denorfia can play all OF spots well, has shown a good bat, and has a decent arm. Both teams would be trading from strengths while not depleating them and solving a weakness. I'm not sure if its possible...but try Krivsky try!!!!
Reds
Denorfia (OF)
Harris (2B,3B)
Szymanski (OF)
Pirates
Gonzalez (RP)
Burnett, Bullington, or Van Benschoten (SP)
What do you think? Brainstorming!
