So it was brought up in one of the main topics, "what if the 76 Reds played the 90 Reds." This is exactly what http://www.whatifsports.com is all about.
We've also discussed having some off-season game threads with audio of a game of the past. I have a server set up to stream the game real-time so that everyone would be on the same pitch as we discussed the game.
So I put 1 and 1 together and came up with this idea: What if (someone) runs a What-If scenario on the 76 VS 90 Reds, get the box (which has a full box score and all batter by batter results, although not pitch by pitch - example below,) and records the game MP3 style, then we load that into the streamer and have a Game-Thread based on it!!
So all we need now is that individual to spend 2 - 3 hours scripting and recording the pitch by pitch.. I would be willing to help with the script to some degree (filling out some ball and strike info.) We could probably get it down to an hour - hour and a half since you wouldn't have to wait 30 seconds between pitches and 4 minutes between half innings although you would want a little bit of a pace to let people type..
So are there any takers? Slyde's name has been tossed out there, being the most logical choice given his education and background. My only problem with that is he might want to participate in the thread.
Whom ever would do it could decide on the starters and players. We could also do this for a "series" or even run it against other teams like 99 Reds or 03 Reds VS 03 Tigers (which I just ran Reds 9 Tigers 5 - Reds scored 6 in the 9th).
