Tuesday Playoff Open Thread

On tap for today:
1:00 - Oakland (Zito) vs. Minnesota (Santana)
4:00 - St. Louis (Carpenter) vs. San Diego (Peavy)
8:00 - Detroit (Robertson) vs. New York (Wang)
According to the official poll, Red Reporter should be rooting for Minnesota, Detroit, and San Diego today. Minnesota and Detroit are actually tied for the most votes at the moment.
That Detroit pitching matchup is kind of underwhelming for a game one. I know that Nate Robertson and Chien-Ming Wang both had solid years, but it's not exactly what you expect.

Yanks over Tigers 3-1

Hoshmawilly! Write it down. Championship.
My shot
Pads over Cards (obvious choice)
Mets over Dodgers
Twins over A's
Yanks over Tigers
Mets over Pads
Yanks over Twins
and we have ourselves another Subway Series
that gets great viewership in New York but sucks everywhere else.
and finally
Mets over Yanks in 7.
Yeah, not saying I like the outcome, but just my guess.. Probably because it is the least watchable series (until game 7) and to spite me and who I'd want to play.
Counterculture
Dodgers over Mets
A's over Twins
Tigers over Yankees(Remember I'm rooting for DET)
Cards over Dodgers

The NL is a wreck this season. I think six teams from the AL would make the WS as the NL representative, if possible.

Uh Oh
Also, it looks like San Diego and St. Louis are now tied. I think the fact that San Diego is not in the Central Division breaks that tie, so I think we should stick with San Diego in that game.
The Dodgers and Mets are tied in the poll, so it's a pick 'em. Go with whoever you like in that one. You've got the history with the Dodgers versus the 1999 season being ruined by the Mets. For me, I hate the Mets more than just about any team, so I'll be rooting for the Dodgers in that first series, but not after that - unless they play the Cardinals.
who the heck voted for the cardinals?

A's
Zito with 2 hits, 3 walks and no runs thru 6. He's already going to be expensive this winter, but with a few starts like this in the postseason his price will be in the stratosphere.

What's my name? (points)
God made the sea,
But on the seventh day,
He made me.
My Lord was trying to rest y'all,
When he heard the sound,
Sound like a guitar,
Cold gettin' down.
I tried to bust a high note,
But I bust a string,
And my God was worried,
Til he heard me sing. Ouauaoua!
