because of family ties, great club history, and the fact that they haven't been to the WS in 22 years, but I am also rooting for them because they are the anti-yankees.

that gets great viewership in New York but sucks everywhere else.

Yeah, not saying I like the outcome, but just my guess.. Probably because it is the least watchable series (until game 7) and to spite me and who I'd want to play.

Uh Oh

Looks like Twins have moved ahead of the Tigers in the poll. Not that it matters today, but next round, we have to be loyal to our choice.

Also, it looks like San Diego and St. Louis are now tied. I think the fact that San Diego is not in the Central Division breaks that tie, so I think we should stick with San Diego in that game.

The Dodgers and Mets are tied in the poll, so it's a pick 'em. Go with whoever you like in that one. You've got the history with the Dodgers versus the 1999 season being ruined by the Mets. For me, I hate the Mets more than just about any team, so I'll be rooting for the Dodgers in that first series, but not after that - unless they play the Cardinals.

It's a SWAG

Short series are hard to call. Anything can happen. For instance, if Zito throws goose eggs the rest of the way in this game, the A's could easily take this series. It only takes one win a game you're not supposed to win to take a series (unless, of course, you're not supposed to win any of the games).

no, it's a standard pronunciation

it's a short "a" sound, as there is no e at the end of the word to make it long. basic english pronunciation rules, here.
