Ramon Ortiz (6-7, 6.30)       Dontrelle Willis (14-7, 3.03)

Ramon Ortiz vs. Dontrelle Willis.  It hardly seems fair eh?  But hey, any given Sunday and all that, right?

Let's go Reds!

Willis
The Reds have never beaten Dontrelle Willis.  Gosh I wonder why?  Because every time, the genius that is the Reds' manager, whether it be Bob Boone, Dave Miley, or Jerry Narron, thinks he has Willis all figured out and stacks the lineup with right handed hitters while benching Griffey and Dunn.

I just don't see how we can lose!  Can anybody figure this mystery out?

Griffey Dunn
Okay, now let me get this straight.  You seem to think that there is some sort of correlation between Griffey and Dunn both being out of the lineup and the Reds inability to score runs.  Am I getting that right?

The Reds managers are all baseball guys.  I don't know what kind of voodoo magic you subscribe too but baseball men always know what they are doing.

It must be the strategery
The funny thing is that Griffey doesn't have a huge platoon split this year.

He has an .847 OPS against lefties and a .907 OPS against righties.

I'll take .847 OPS from center field any day of the week, thank you.  It is a higher OPS than a lot of the other Reds starters who hit right handed (Kearns, for one).

Putting in Pena for Dunn is actually a good idea, because Pena absolutely murders lefties (1.022 OPS), and Dunn has a pretty dramatic platoon split (.817 vs 1.071 OPS).

Don't mind me...just pitching to contact, that's all...

Is there a reason the Reds aren't wearing their ugly red Sunday home jerseys?  Did they scrap them?

If A pitcher commits the errors...
shouldnt those runs be EARNED?  ;)

I've always thought that...
Seems like the least you could do was count the pitcher's own mistakes against him.
