Former Reds managers coming back to Cincy?

A's third-base coach Ron Washington is emerging as a strong candidate to manage the Devil Rays if Lou Piniella departs. ... Former manager Davey Johnson has emerged as the leading candidate to manage the Marlins next season, replacing Jack McKeon.

There's three former Reds managers out there for next season. Will we get trader Jack back in here? What about Sweet Lou? Hell even Davey Johnson. I'dd like to see sweet Lou comeback. Whatcha think?

Davey
I'd like to see Davey Johnson back.  The other two I could probably pass on, although Lou would at least make things a bit more interesting.

Lou
Lou quit on the Devil Rays'.  Earlier this year, he said he takes no responsibility for what the team does.  I don't care if they are the Rays', you cannot quit on your team.  I don't want him managing the Reds.

Lou
This is more of a commentary on ownership being unwilling to put more money into the franchise.

Like if you were given a sword to defend a house against a guy with a gun, and say that you take no responsbility for what happens to house.  You aren't saying that the sword sucks, or that it's a lousy weapon.  But it is useless against a gun.

The house = The Devil Rays franchise
The sword = The Devil Rays roster
The guy with a gun = AL East

Well enough of my rambling.  I don't think Lou Pinella would be the be-all end-all and the Reds would neccesarily win another WS with him, but Lou is my favorite manager and I would be happy to see him back in Cincy.  Wouldn't mind seeing Jack McKeon either.

Reds Managers
I think Narron has done a tremendous job in his time in charge. Give the man a chance !

I agree
He has done a good job.  I wasn't real excited about him.  But, Dunn is hitting 4th and we're winning.  He's not a savior, but he's making decent decisions.  Give the guy a shot.  A one year extention with a buyout option and let him coach for a full season.

For Narron
Don't be sidetracked by reputation - go on performance. Narron is doing a credible job. Bird in hand ...

Narron
My concern with Narron is that the improvement may not have anything to do with him.  It looked like many players were not happy with Miley this season and I wonder if the improvement is more a matter of lack of Miley than the arrival of Narron.

I don't know that Narron is not the answer, but more importantly, I'd rather see that the Reds have a clear plan from the top down.  If Narron fits that plan, then keep him, but don't stay with him just because the Reds improved to the level that we expected them to be.  Personally, I haven't seen anythign from narron that would make me think the improvement isn't anything but the team achieving it's normal level over a long season.

Narron
Does anyone else notice the stare that Narron has when something starts going wrong on the field.  He gets a look on his face like he's going to whip some butts between innings.  That's a look that hasn't been in a Reds' dugout since Davey Johnson.  I don't mean to overstate his effect either, but I can certainly see how the players react to his attitude.  A lot of other managers would have mailed it in when they inherited a last place team.

Davey Johnson
I just saw on the sportsline rumor mill that the USA Today is reporting Davey Johnson will be the successor to Jack McKeon in Florida.  That pretty much means Davey Johnson will NOT be managing in Florida next season.
