Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

Intelligent trash talkin'

Should be an interesting series with the Brewers ... after these two series, the Brewers, who had been cruisin' on the road, got swept and are barely getting anybody past first base, while the Reds must be flying high.

No offense or anything, but the way the Reds had been playing for a while there, I had pencilled in this weekend series (especially since it's at Miller Park, where the Crew plays well) for 2 out of 3 for the Brewers, if not a sweep.  But now I'm not so sure...

Obviously you guys are going to be thinking about it from a different angle, but I'm curious whether you think this momentum is going to last long...what you expect out this series, etc.

And...consider this an invitation to drop in over at an SB Nation sister site, Brew Crew Ball, where it's all Brewers, all the time.  (Except when I'm distracted by something else, when it isn't.)

I find myself looking forward to this series a little more than I normally would for a Reds-Brewers series in August.  I wish the Reds had one more game (a win obviously) under their belt so that a sweep would mean a tie record between the two teams.

I am concerned about facing some tough pitching as the Reds tend to lose when they can't score more than 3 runs in a game (just 4-45 such contests).  Capuano and Ohka aren't staff aces, but could cause some problems for Reds bats.  But you never know with these guys.  If they are seeing the ball well, look out!

All I know is that if Lyle Overbay sees one pitch over the plate with runers on base, I'm writing a personal letter to Jerry Narron myself.

My prediction - the road mojo is just too high for the Reds right now - they'll win 2 out of 3 against the Brew Crew.

Go Reds!

I'm worried that this little winning streak will go to his head.  Usually when the Reds have a streak going, the manager mails it in with a weak lineup so he can rest everyone at one time.

We'll find out on Friday.  Capuano is a tough left-hander.  I expect that Dunn will bat sixth, if he plays at all and Pena and Aurilia will be 2 of the top 4 batters.

And Griffey will sit also...
In order to give him two straight days off, notwithstanding the fact that (a) he doesn't want days off and never (to my knowledge) has asked for days off and (b)he doesn't have that much of a platoon differential anyway.
Don't mind me...just pitching to contact, that's all...
