Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Game Thread: Game 42

TIME: 7:10 @ Great American Ball Park

REDS PROBABLE:
                     INDIANS PROBABLE:
Elizardo Ramirez (0-1, 3.38)        C.C. Sabathia (2-3, 3.55)

Let's see if the Reds can win two in a row, something they haven't done in quite some time.

Make sure you vote in this poll, I found the question to be interesting.  I was planning to toss out the meetup idea out there at some point, but I was going to wait until the site had grown a bit more.

I'm also opening up a Red Reporter merchandise store, and the first item is a "We Boo Because You Suck" t-shirt inspired by Danny Graves recent comments.

Here's the store for your perusal.  Make sure you check out the front and back of the shirt, and let me know what you think. You'll notice the permanent link to the store off to the left. I have to admit that I shamelessly stole the idea of the picture from Bat Girl. I'll have other stuff up at some point.

Let's go Reds! Good luck to The Lizard!

Not executed
Pitching to the #8 hitter with two strikes was the right thing to do.  Just don't throw him a gopher ball.

Intentional Walk
I was only half listening and wondered why they didn't intentionally walk Peralta ... and then Sabathia hits a home run.

Ramirez doesn't even seem to be pitching that badly, just some silly mistakes that inning.

Recap?
I missed the game because I was working. How did Elizardo look today?

He looked OK
I think he generally pitched well.  He made bad pitches to Peralta and Sabathia, and that was all she wrote.

I like him, I guess.  He's a soft tosser, and the league has a tendency to catch up to those kind of guys the second time around.
